Seth Burchartz sweeps Fast Friday
Title contender Seth Burchartz has fired the first shots on Fast Friday for the Yokohama Tyre AASA Australian Formula Ford Championship at Queensland Raceway.
It was a dominant day for Burchartz after leading all three practice sessions, but Yokohama Tyre AASA Australian Formula Ford Championship leader Oli Wickham was right behind in each session.
At the end of the last session of the day, Burchartz finished on a 1m 14.439s to be 0.081s clear of Wickham leaving Giuseppe Imbrogno in third a further 0.150s in arrears.
Will Lowing was fourth ahead of Jett Leicester, Sam March, Isaac Demellweek, debutant Maxim Kirwan, Lachie Mineeff and Brad James rounded out the top 10.
Next up was Rio Campbell as the last of the drivers to be within less than a second of Burchartz, with Hunter Salvatore uncharacteristically out of the mix.
Leading the next contenders was Kaleb Balek from Will Hickey, Lachlan Shearsmith, Xavier Henderson, Tabitha Ambrose, Ryan DeBorre and national series debutant Angus Baills.
Saturday’s action begins with Qualifying at 9:30am ahead of the opening race at 1:25pm and the second event at 3:35pm (all times AEST).
